Southern Maryland High School Students, London Short and Cameron Walker, have been named the winners of the 2017 Student Filmmaker Grant sponsored by the Arts Council of Calvert County through the Maryland State Arts Council in partnership with the upcoming North Beach American Film Festival.
Both students won the prize with their award winning essay’s entitled, ” How Movies Affect My Generation and Why I Want to Make Them.” The students both receive $500 to produce a short film due to premiere as part of the Opening Night Screening for the three day festival.
The screening of the short films will take place on Friday June 23rd before the screening of the high school performing arts documentary 45:A Rock and Roll Revival. Tickets are on sale now: http://www.nbaff.org/
