Thomas Johnson Bridge Work Postponed

2015-03-07

Due to yesterday’s snow SHA was unable to put message boards out and give motorists sufficient notice of the Thomaslogo-sha Johnson Bridge at Solomons, aerial navigation lighting work scheduled for this weekend.  Therefore, we have decided to reschedule this work for the following weekend.  I apologize for the short notice and any inconvenience.  SHA understands the importance of this bridge to southern Maryland and we strive to provide advance notice of any planned lane closures on the bridge so motorists can adjust their travel schedules if necessary.

Weather permitting, crews will be on the bridge Sunday, March 15 beginning at 6 a.m.  Work includes inspection and bulb replacement for the three aerial navigation beacons on the bridge.  Motorists should expect a single lane flagging operation across the bridge through the morning.  All work will be completed no later than 2 p.m.
