The Calvert County government’s Employee Recognition Committee (ERC) awards two scholarships, one for a $1,000 and one for $500, to
qualifying seniors, who parents are Calvert County employees. There is also one scholarship awarded to a qualifying senior who is a Calvert County Employee. On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, the scholarship award winners were presented to the Calvert Board of County Commissioners.
The winner this year of the $1,000 scholarship is Kyle Gronda, Patuxent High School. He is the son of TuTu Gronda, who works in the Solid Waste Division. The winner of the $500 scholarship is Kiley Bauer, Huntingtown High School. She is the daughter of Katy Bauer, who works in Technology Services. There were no applications this year for a qualifying senior who works for the county government.
An impartial panel of five employees reviewed a total of 6 applications this year. The applicants were judged on scholastic grades and on their written essay on leadership. These two students have lead an exemplary high school career.
Congratulations to Kyle and Kiley for your awards!
