Water & Sewer Employees Recogized for Team Excellence

2019-06-11

The Team Excellence award recognizes Calvert County government employees who have excelled as a group and displayed cooperation and teamwork in support of a common goal or project. The Employee Recognition Committee (ERC) is pleased to recommend the following employees for a Team Excellence Award:

Department of Public Works – Water & Sewer

Travis Bailey, Ryan Bowen, Mike Harrington, James Joachim, Aaron Junior, Brian Kontra, James Ritter, Stefon Ryan and Bobby Thomas.

Julie Paluda

This team is being recognized for expert and efficient handling of the March 14, 2019, sewer leak on HG Trueman Road, Lusby Md.  The leak was in the 4-mile long Solomons sewer force main. Unlike a water main, the flow and pressure in these pipes can be reduced, but never stopped completely. This nine-person team worked in difficult and unpleasant conditions to repair the leak, minimizing any environmental impact, while maintaining continuous service to all Water & Sewer customers.

The Department of Public Works, Water and Sewer employees were invited to the June 4, 2019 meeting of the Calvert Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) where each was presented a framed “Team Excellence” certificate.

Congratulations to each for a job well done!
