Join me for my first forum of 2017!
As your State Senator representing the 29th District in the Maryland State Senate, I am pleased to serve you in this capacity via assignment to the Senate Education, Health and Environmental Affairs Committee. Through this committee I am afforded the opportunity to review and influence a wide array of legislation, from election laws to education policy to alcohol licensing, making this committee one of the busiest in Annapolis. I am also honored to have been appointed to and serve as the co-chair on the Senate Veterans Caucus. As a member of this caucus, along with my committee assignment, I am able to gain a unique perspective which allows me to represent my constituency from a different perspective other Senators may not have. With that in mind, I feel as part of my representation I have a responsibility to meet with industry stakeholders to discuss the impact legislation passed during the previous Session has on you, as well as to gather input on legislation for the upcoming legislative Session.
Once again I am hosting several forums during the interim targeting specific industries that are affected by the legislation passed by my committee. The first forum of 2017 will deal specifically with Veterans issues and legislation and will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 5:30- 7:30 pm at the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #7 located at 21215 Chancellors Run Rd, Great Mills, MD 20634. During this forum you will have the opportunity to learn about legislation passed during the 2017 session, hear about potential legislation that may be introduced during the 2018 legislative session, and ask questions.
I hope you will consider taking time out of your busy schedule to attend and discuss the important issues facing Veterans. There is no need to RSVP, however, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact my office at 410-841-3673 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to seeing you on June 21st.
