The York Revolution received a combination of early runs, and great pitching from their starter Matt Neil as they picked up the victory over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in game one 5-0 Tuesday evening, June 16.
In the bottom of the first York got on the board scoring two runs on three hits. Bryan Pounds singled, followed by a Telvin Nash single to left to put runners on first and second. The next hitter Nick Ferdinand doubled in both Pounds and Nash to make it 2-0. The bottom of the second mirrored the first inning, as the Revolution scored two more runs. Starlin Rodriguez hit a two run homerun to make it 4-0. York added one more run in the bottom of the third.
Game two of the three game series is Wednesday. The first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. Lefty Rommie Lewis (4-4, 2.36) will throw for York, while right-hander Jake Hale (6-2, 1.98) will start for Southern Maryland.
